The AI generator is optional and requires you to provide your own Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (GPT-4) API key. Your API key is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. When you generate a thread, the request goes directly from your browser to the AI provider using your key.

All your threads, drafts, and settings are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers. If you clear your browser data, your threads will be deleted, so make sure to export important threads!

Yes! You can export threads in multiple formats: plain text (for copy-paste to Twitter), image (PNG for sharing), Markdown (for documentation), PDF (for archiving), and JSON (for backup). You can also share threads via URL.

Click the "Share Thread" button to generate a shareable URL. The thread content is encoded in the URL itself, so anyone with the link can view and edit the thread. You can also generate a QR code for easy mobile sharing.

Based on engagement data, 5-10 tweets is the sweet spot for most topics. Quick tips work well in 3-5 tweets, how-to guides in 7-10 tweets, and deep dives in 12-15 tweets maximum. Beyond 15 tweets, engagement drops significantly.

Yes! While designed for Twitter/X, ThreadCreator supports LinkedIn, Threads (Meta), and Mastodon. Each platform has different character limits, which are automatically applied when you select the platform.

ThreadCreator automatically saves your draft every 2 seconds to IndexedDB. If your browser crashes or you accidentally close the tab, you'll see a recovery prompt when you return offering to restore your unsaved work.

ThreadCreator works on all modern browsers that support IndexedDB: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Brave. For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of your browser.

Yes! ThreadCreator has service worker support for offline functionality. Once you've visited the site, the core features (composer, templates, history) work offline. Only the AI generator requires an internet connection.

Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you can delete everything by clearing your browser's site data for threadcreator.app. Alternatively, use the "Delete All" button in the History page to remove all threads while keeping your settings.
