Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Learn how we handle your data.

Privacy-First Design

ThreadCreator is built with privacy as a core principle. All your thread data stays in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information or thread content to any servers.

Local Storage Only

Your threads are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. This means:

  • Your data never leaves your device
  • No account or login required
  • No server-side storage of your threads
  • You have complete control over your data

No Tracking or Analytics

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics tools, or any third-party services that could compromise your privacy. Your browsing activity on this site is completely private.

AI Features (Optional)

ThreadCreator offers optional AI-powered features for thread generation. These features work out of the box with no API key required.

  • No API key required - AI features work immediately without any setup
  • Requests go through our server - Your browser sends requests to our server, which forwards them to Vercel AI Gateway
  • We use Vercel AI Gateway - Our server uses Vercel AI Gateway to access OpenAI's GPT-5 Nano model
  • Content is not stored - Your prompts and generated content are only used for generation and never stored on our servers

What Data is Sent to AI Providers

When you use AI generation features, the following data is sent to our server (which forwards it to Vercel AI Gateway / OpenAI):

  • Your topic or prompt input
  • Selected tone (professional, casual, educational, storytelling)
  • Thread length preference (short, medium, long)
  • Your thread content (for hook/CTA generation features)
  • Long-form content you paste (for content conversion feature)

Important: This data is only used to generate your thread and is never stored on our servers. Generated content is sent back to your browser and stored locally in IndexedDB. For details on how the AI provider handles data, see:

Sharing Threads

When you use the "Share Thread" feature:

  • Thread content is encoded in the URL
  • The URL can be shared with others to view your thread
  • This is optional and only happens when you explicitly click "Share Thread"
  • No data is sent to our servers during this process

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

  • Clearing your browser's local storage
  • Using the "Clear All Data" button in the History page
  • Uninstalling or clearing your browser cache

Questions?

If you have any questions about our privacy practices, please understand that as a privacy-first application with no servers or data collection, there is no personal data for us to access or manage.
