From notes to a finished thread in four moves
- Start with material, not a blank box. Paste a blog post, meeting notes or a long LinkedIn draft into Paste & auto-split, open a template, or describe the topic and let the AI write a first draft.
- Rewrite post 1 until it makes a promise. The first post is the only one most people see. Use the Hooks menu or our hook examples for proven openings.
- Check the score. Each of the seven factors shows what to fix and why it matters. Tap a factor name to see the reasoning.
- Copy and post. Copy post by post from the preview, or copy everything at once. Numbers like 1/7 are added for you if you want them.

Is ThreadCreator free?

How do I post the thread on X?
Copy each post from the preview (or copy the whole thread), paste post 1 into X, then tap the + button in the X composer to add each following post before you publish. X posts them as one connected thread.
How does auto-split decide where to break?
It keeps paragraphs together when they fit in 280 characters. If a paragraph is too long, it breaks at the end of a sentence, then at a comma or dash, and only splits mid-sentence at a word boundary as a last resort. It never cuts a word in half unless a single word is longer than a post.
Does the character count match X exactly?
It follows X’s published counting rules: most letters count as 1, Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters count as 2, each emoji counts as 2 and every link counts as 23 no matter how long it is.
What does the engagement score measure?
It checks seven writing habits that editors look for in threads: hook strength, thread length, whether every post fits, scannability, link placement, a closing call to action and specific, confident wording. It is a writing checklist, not a prediction of views.
Where are my drafts stored?
Only in your browser’s local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded unless you press an AI button, and then only the text needed for that request is sent. You can clear everything on the privacy page.
