Twitter bio ideas that work
- Lead with the benefit to the reader, not your job title
- Include one concrete number (followers helped, years, revenue, readers)
- Name the 2–3 topics you post about so people know what they’ll get
- Add one human detail: a hobby, city or harmless quirk
- Use a single emoji as a visual bullet, not five
- Point to one link with an arrow (↓) instead of “link in bio”
- Skip hashtags; bios aren’t search-ranked by them
- Rewrite it whenever your focus changes
Once the bio’s done, give people a reason to click it: write a thread in the thread maker. Want bold or italic letters? Try the text formatter, but read its accessibility note first.
Questions
How long can a Twitter bio be?
An X profile bio can be up to 160 characters. Your display name can be 50 and your location 30.
What should I put in my Twitter bio?
Who you help or what you do, one concrete proof point (a number, a company, a result), the topics you post about, and optionally one human detail. Point to a single link.
Is the bio generator free?
Yes, and there’s no sign-up. Describe yourself and it writes five bios under 160 characters. The templates on this page work without AI.
Should I use hashtags or emoji in my bio?
Skip hashtags: they clutter the bio and don’t help people find you. One or two emoji used as visual bullets are fine.
